Partnering with the Villanova Institute for Teaching and Learning (VITAL), Falvey Memorial Library co-sponsored an orientation breakfast on Wednesday, Aug. 18, in Falvey’s Speakers’ Corner to welcome new Villanova faculty to Falvey Library. We recognize the University holiday closure and COVID-19 pandemic will prevent many students and faculty from returning loaned books.

Here is what you need to know:

  • The Library has stopped assessing overdue fines on Falvey materials.
  • The E-ZBorrow and ILLiad services can be used to request books and DVDs from other libraries.
  • Due dates for interlibrary loan (ILL) books vary and are imposed by the lending library. Email for questions about ILL loans.
  • Fall 2020 graduates may email to request a pre-paid shipping label to return their books.

  • Falvey and E-ZBorrow books checked out in fall 2020 will be due back Jan. 31, 2021.
  • Books can be returned 24/7 at the outdoor book drop (outside the main entrance). Returns also accepted inside the library building Monday—Friday, 9 a.m.—5 p.m. Wildcard and mask are required for building access.
  • Email for questions about returns. View your checked out items here.

This new Falvey Library Blog is dedicated to library news of special interest to Communication faculty and students.  Check in regularly to find out about new books, library events, changes to resources, database trials, and other news.

For those of you I have not met, my name is Kristyna Carroll, and I am the new Communication liaison at the library.  I started at Falvey in April, and as a Villanova alum, am excited to be back on campus!  Although I will be the primary librarian,  Linda Hauck remains part of the team that provides services to the Communication Department.  To read a little more about my background, check out this post in the Library News blog.

Although I have already had the pleasure of meeting several faculty members, I look forward to working with many more of you.  And, since this is my first semester on campus, I am very excited for the students to arrive! (more…)
