Banned Book Performances in Falvey’s Speakers’ Corner
Who bans books in the U.S.–and what are they so afraid of?
Please join us for a collection of banned book performances by students in COM 3241 Performance of Literature, guided by Dr. Heidi Rose, on Monday, Oct. 30, and Wednesday, Nov. 1. Performances will take place in Falvey Library’s Speakers’ Corner at 5 p.m. Banned book performances include: The Giver, Looking for Alaska, Caste: The Origins of our Discontents, Catcher in the Rye, The Glass Castle, The Bluest Eye, Lord of the Flies, The Hate U Give, The House on Mango Street, Nineteen Minutes, Junie B Jones, Animal Farm, and To Kill a Mockingbird. These events are sponsored by the Department of Communication and Falvey Library.
