I’m Daniella Snyder, a first-year graduate student at Villanova University, and your newest ‘Cat in Falvey Library’s Stacks. I’ll be posting about academics– from research to study habits and everything in between– and how the Falvey Library can play a large role in your success here on campus!

I love snow days. Between the cancelled classes, work shifts, and meetings, it’s like my world pauses for a day. Snow days aren’t meant for doing work, getting ahead of your reading, or even cleaning the house. Use an unexpected snow day as a day to pause, breathe, and relax.

While I can’t say for sure if we have a snow day coming up, maybe I’ll will it into existence with this blog post.

A great snow day requires 3 things: good food, good entertainment, and good company.

So, on the next snow day (whenever it may be!), put on those fuzzy socks, grab your comfiest blankets, and follow these great tips to have the best snow day ever.

Good food:

When you have a snow day, there’s no need to rush when cooking. Make something warm, delicious, and unhealthy.

Check out Alton Brown’s recipe for chewy, chocolate chip cookies, or make some real, homemade hot chocolate.

Bon Appetit compiled an incredible list of 50 recipes to keep you warm during a winter storm.

Good entertainment:

With 8+ hours stuck inside, you’ve got some time to binge watch a new show. Here’s a list of shows you can watch in one weekend!

If you need a good laugh:

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime)

Future Man (Hulu)

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (Netflix)

If you’re in the mood for a thriller:

Altered Carbon (Netflix)

Jack Ryan (Amazon Prime)

Dark (Netflix)

If you want a crime show:

The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story (Netflix)

Ted Bundy Tapes (netflix)

True Detective, Season 1 (HBO)
