This double week Content Roundup features the most recent content digitized from Distinctive Collections including a number of treasures including an early survey of the land that will become Villanova College, the first known Alumni Association minute book as well as more Dime Novels and story papers. Notable as well are issues of the Saturday Globe newspaper reputed to be the first United States national newspaper; this Utica New York published weekly newspaper also was one of the first to regularly feature a full color cover illustration on the front page, often graphically portraying an event such as a disaster or war (note the above illustration of the then current eruption of Vesuvius).

A disbound scrapbook album on brittle paper, assembled by Jessie Margaret Ada Mutch, from her time in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, serving in the European Theater of Operations, mostly France, 1942-1946. This section contains items from the end of the war and after, 1943-1946, including: correspondence on commendation and other notecards and letters; invitation, program, menu, and guest list for dinner in honor of doctors and nurses returned from duty, March 21 1946; newspaper and newsletter clippings and articles from publications such as Stars and Stripes, Yank: the Army Weekly, and the ship’s newspaper of the SS N.Y.U.-Victory, August 21-26, 1945, troop transport ship returning units from Europe to the U.S.
