Falvey Memorial Library Extends Service Hours For Final Exams

Falvey Memorial Library is extending service hours for final exams. Library services are available to the University community during posted service hours, (bolded below are the extended service hours.) Villanova students, faculty, and staff may enter the Library building 24/7 with a valid Wildcard. Electronic collections (articles, e-books, and more!) are accessible through the Library’s website 24/7. For a full listing of service hours, visit the Library website.

Friday, April 22: 8 a.m.—10 p.m. (front doors lock at 5 p.m., book stacks close at 9:30 p.m.)

Saturday, April 23: 9 a.m.—10 p.m. (front doors lock at 5 p.m., book stacks close at 9:30 p.m.)

Sunday, April 24: 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. (book stacks close at 11:30 p.m.)

Monday, April 25 —Thursday, April 28: 8 a.m.—12 a.m. (book stacks close at 11:30 p.m.)

Friday, April 29: 8 a.m.—10 p.m. (front doors lock at 5 p.m., book stacks close at 9:30 p.m.)

Saturday, April 30: 9 a.m.—10 p.m. (front doors lock at 5 p.m., book stacks close at 9:30 p.m.)

Sunday, May 1: 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. (book stacks close at 11:30 p.m.)

  • Dec. 1–6 (Fall Semester Hours)
    • Service Hours: 9 a.m.– 5 p.m., Monday–Friday
    • Building Hours: 6 a.m.–midnight, 7 days a week
  • Dec. 7–20 (Adjusted Operations Period)
    • Service Hours: 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday-Friday
    • Building Hours: 6 a.m.–midnight, 7 days a week
  • Dec. 21–23 (Adjusted Operations Period)
    • Service Hours:  No service hours
    • Building Hours: Monday, Dec. 21 and Tuesday, Dec. 22, 6 a.m.–midnight; Wednesday, Dec. 23, 6 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Dec. 24–Jan. 1 (University Holiday Closure)
    • Service Hours: No service hours
    • Building Hours: Building is closed

A Wildcard is required to enter and a mask must be worn while visiting. Contactless pickup, printing, and self-scanning services are available during building hours.

Book Stacks Access

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Falvey West and the third and fourth floors are CLOSED for stacks browsing and study space. Villanova students, faculty and staff may request library materials for Contactless Pickup. Requests must be placed by noon on Friday, Dec. 18. Materials requested can be picked up through Dec. 23, 5 p.m. Any requests placed during the holiday closure will be ready for pickup by Jan. 5.

Scanning

To request a scan from a physical item in Falvey’s collection, submit an ILLiad request. Patrons may also continue to use the ILLiad service to request scanned copies of articles from other libraries. Patrons may also request books, DVDs, microfilm, etc., from other libraries through ILLiad. E-ZBorrow services will be available throughout the intersession except during official University holidays 12/24—1/3. Expect processing delays when submitting requests.

Sunday, March 1: CLOSED 

Monday, March 2—Friday, March 6:

9 a.m.—5 p.m. (front doors and book stacks close at 4:30 p.m.)

Saturday, March 7: CLOSED 

Sunday, March 8: 12 p.m.—12 a.m.

(front doors lock at 8 pm, books stacks close at 11:30 p.m.)

Semester hours resume Monday, March 9, 8 a.m.—12 a.m.

24/7 access will remain available for valid Wildcard holders.

It’s the first day of the spring semester! With that comes new classes, new textbooks, and new Falvey hours!

Find the access hours below, but remember, Falvey access is available 24/7 with your Wildcard.

SERVICE HOURS

  • Monday-Thursday: 8-12 AM
  • Friday: 8 AM-5 PM
  • Saturday: 9 AM-5 PM
  • Sunday: 12 PM-12 AM

Upon returning to campus this semester, Nova Nation was pleasantly surprised to see that the turnstiles in Falvey’s entrance had been removed. Some of our Access Services staff are happy to unveil the second part of the renovation – an automatic sliding door! We’re excited for you to see the Library’s new look!

Fall Break Service Hours

Fall break service hours:

Monday, October 14 – Friday, October 18: 9am-5pm (entrance doors and book stacks lock at 4:30pm, after-hours card access available)

Saturday, October 19: CLOSED (after-hours card access available)

Sunday, October 20: 12-8pm (entrance doors and book stacks lock at 7:30pm, after-hours card access available)

Regular semester hours resume on Monday, October 21. 24/7 areas will remain accessible to students, faculty and staff with a valid Wildcard when the service desk is closed.
