Listen to a good book!

The audiobook collection can be used to enhance course work or to relax from the stress of learning, teaching or working on campus. Over the past two years, The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, was the most popular with over 40 listeners, not surprising since it was the first One Book Villanova selection (2005-06) and is read by the author. In second place is the Harry Potter series, read by Jim Dale, a Tony Award winning actor, followed by F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.

For intellectual pursuits, the current variety of titles ranges from Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" to Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. For relaxed listening, there is the Western, Telegraph Days by Larry McMurtry, read by actress Annie Potts, and the mystery, The Murder Room, written by P. D. James.

The audiobook collection, which rotates with Saint Joseph's and LaSalle Universities, is located at the main service desk on the first floor; the loan period is 30 days with one renewal. Audiobooks can run from a few hours to twenty. Read the description to see how long a car trip will be needed for a particular book.
