Jim Croce ’65 and the Villanova Singers Celebrate Birthdays

By Shawn Proctor

Jim Croce ’65, the beloved singer-songwriter who passed away at 30, was born January 10, 1943. To honor his birthday, we’re throwing it back to 1965, when then “James” Croce shared his musical talent on campus as a member of The Villanova Singers, who celebrated their 70th anniversary last year. That yearbook, contained in the University’s Digital Library, is truly “Time in a Bottle.” All photos: copyright Villanova University, credit Digital Library@Villanova University.

Happy Birthday Wishes for Jim Croce. I remember the day I met him when my brother Maury Muehleisen invited him to our family home in Trenton, NJ. From that day on, we all shared so many times together, gathering happy memories along the way. I miss them on their birthdays ~ January 10 for Jim and January 14 for Maury ~ and I miss them always and forever since September 20, 1973. Thank you for remembering them.
