Emily Thomas is a first-year graduate student in the Department of Education & Counseling at Villanova University. She recently began her career as an elementary substitute teacher while simultaneously pursuing her M.A. degree in education. When she needs sources for an upcoming paper, she turns to JSTOR.

JSTOR provides access to journals and other primary sources, specifically in the social sciences and humanities. I personally find this database to be an incredible resource for education research. JSTOR makes navigating the site simple and presents me with countless scholarly journals, articles, primary sources, and even some books. Thanks to JSTOR I am able to take a look at research that has made an impact in the field of education. Whether it’s teacher retention, education policy, growth mindset, or even effective engagement strategies for students, JSTOR proves to be a valuable resource for my area of study.”

For additional education-related resources, check out the Education & Counseling Subject Guide! You can also get in touch with the librarian for Education & Counseling, Deborah Bishov, at any point in your research.
