Welcome to Falvey: Rebecca Oviedo Joins Distinctive Collections

Rebecca Oviedo recently joined Distinctive Collections as distinctive collections coordinator, reporting to Michael Foight, director, Distinctive Collections and Digital Engagement.

Originally from Havertown, Pennsylvania, Oviedo earned a BA in American Studies and Art History/Fine Arts from George Washington University and a MA in Public History from La Salle University.

Oviedo previously worked in the department of photography and digital imaging at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C. Before joining the Falvey staff Oviedo lead a grant-funded project to digitize and provide online access to the entire art collection from the La Salle University Art Museum. Through partnerships with La Salle University, Oviedo became familiar with Falvey Memorial Library. “I was familiar with Villanova’s Digital Library through one of its partnerships with La Salle University’s Connelly Library – so I knew of the reputation for collaboration, quality, and scope of work produced, and am really excited to join the team!”

In her free time, Oviedo enjoys traveling, visiting museums, and spending time with her family.

Oviedo’s office is located in Collections on Falvey’s second floor; (610) 519-7508.
