#RenovationNation Continues: Please Use Caution When Entering/Exiting Old Falvey

Nova Nation is a Renovation Nation! Everywhere you look the campus is transforming; the completion of the pedestrian bridge on Lancaster Avenue, the quick moving construction of the Lancaster Avenue residences halls, the renovation of the Finneran Pavilion, the groundbreaking for the Performing Arts Center and construction on SEPTA’s Villanova train station.

The pedestrian bridge across Lancaster Avenue.

Last summer, the first phase of the Mendel Field transformation was completed, providing the Villanova community with a “new plaza” surrounding the St. Thomas of Villanova Monastery. A new “brick-paved walkway wrapped around a portion” of Mendel field.” The walkway is expected to be completed this November. The transformation will also include “new plazas” that will be “added to Old Falvey and John Barry Hall.”

Falvey Library patrons and staff are eagerly awaiting the new plaza! Until then, please use caution when entering Old Falvey. The Old Falvey Reading Room entrance is closed, so please enter and exit Old Falvey using the adjacent doors. The main entrance to the Library will remain open. For additional information about the Mendel Field project and other campus transformations, please visit the University’s website.
