Content Roundup – Fourth Week – June 2018

Front cover “Despotism against Democracy” – James M. Flagg, Leslie’s illustrated weekly newspaper, v. 124, no. 3217, May 3, 1917

Keep your cool: take a break from the heat, grab a chilled drink, and take a look at some of the newly digitized materials added this week. Notable additions include WWI era issues of Leslie’s weekly illustrated newspaper, a now-rare illustrated news magazine, featuring highly sensational and propagandistic full color covers by some of the most iconic artists of the time, such as James M. Flagg and, later, Norman Rockwell. As well a host of new story paper issues and two Belle Air yearbooks, from 1944 and ’45, round out this weeks offerings!
