Black eyed Susans on campus

From spring through fall, the Villanova campus is filled with blooms. Black eyed Susans (Rudbeckia hirta) are native to the United States and are found in most states. They attract butterflies and bees and birds eat their seeds. Black eyed Susans, the state flower of Maryland, are heat and drought resistant and belong to the sunflower family.
