The Curious ‘Cat: “Relishing the chance to ketchup.”
It’s National Hot Dog Day! The Curious ‘Cat asked Villanovans, “How do you take your hot dog?”
Mike Sgier, Access Services Specialist: “The classic…mustard and ketchup.”
Chris Hallberg, Library Technology Developer: “Just a plain hot dog, but its gotta have the skin. Sometimes I’ll eat it with sauerkraut and onions.”
Joanne Quinn, Director of Communication and Marketing: “I hated hot dogs until I went to Chicago four years ago and stood in line at Portillo’s and got a hot dog with everything on it. Everything on my hot dogs, I don’t eat them any other way. It’s worth flying to Chicago for Portillo’s hot dogs, just save some room for deep-dish pizza.”
Jesse Flavin, Access Services Specialist: “Chicago-style is really crazy, but I’d be lying if I said I ate my hot dogs with everything on them. I keep it simple with ketchup and mustard.”
Dave Uspal, Library Technology Developer: “Just ketchup or mustard…or barbecue sauce. If I’m feeling really crazy, I’ll put A1 Steak Sauce on my hot dog.”
Alice Bampton, Communications & Marketing Program Manager: “Mustard and chopped onions.”
Let’s be frank, here’s a list of places offering discounts for National Hot Dog Day. Bon appétit!

There’s nothing like a “dirty water” dog from a street vendor with mustard and relish.
