Falvey Memorial Library and the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships is proudly joining forces once again to co-sponsor the 15th annual Falvey Scholars Awards Presentation and Reception Ceremony on Friday, April 28, 2017 in Falvey Memorial Library’s room 205. The Falvey Scholars Awards Program recognizes and celebrates the academic excellence of some of Villanova’s most exceptional undergraduate scholars. This year’s event will honor six Falvey Scholars who have utilized Falvey’s resources to complete their outstanding projects.

The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. with gathering and light refreshments. Shortly thereafter, Ms. Millicent Gaskell, Director of Falvey Memorial Library and University Librarian, will open up the program and Vice Provost for Academics, Craig Wheeland, PhD, will formally welcome attendees. Gaskell, who will act as the event emcee and award presenter throughout the program, will then invite the faculty mentors and student award-winners up one-by-one to present projects.

After each individual 30 minute presentation and Q&A session, Gaskell will present the scholars with a Falvey Scholar award.

The Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, addresses Falvey Scholars at the 2016 event.

At the conclusion of the event, University President, The Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, will be on-site to give closing remarks and take pictures with the winning student scholars. The Falvey Scholars program is one of the keynote events that is included in the Spring Undergraduate Research Exposition, or EXPO ‘17: a week-long series of programs that recognize the work that Villanova’s undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty accomplish throughout the year.
