Dennis Lambert Retires
Dennis Lambert, Collection Management coordinator, retired at the end of February 2017. A member of the Collections Directorate, he came to Villanova in May 1990, as Head, Collection Management, after serving at two research libraries in the Middle Atlantic region. Lambert served under several library directors, Mary Ann Griffin, DA; James L. Mullins, PhD; Joseph Lucia and the current University Librarian, Millicent Gaskell. During his tenure at Falvey, Lambert has witnessed the profound change in collections from largely print to digital and dealt with budget constraints during this transition.
Lambert has been proactive in collection development and management, preservation, gifts management and minor book repairs. From 2006, he led the Resource Council, a library team charged with charting the course of collection building at Falvey. Lambert was also a member of the Business Academic Integration team and the Assessment team. For many years he was active in several sections of the American Library Association.
His contributions to the profession and to Falvey have been valuable and valued. We wish him success in all his future endeavors.
