Peek at the Week: Dec.12-16
Quote of the Week
“You have plenty of courage, I am sure,” answered Oz.
“All you need is confidence in yourself. There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger. The true courage is in facing danger when you are afraid, and that kind of courage you have in plenty.”
-L. Frank Baum
May your preparations bring you luck for your final exams/papers/presentations.
We’ll be here to help until everything is turned in and settled. You’ll do and be great.
This Week at the Library,
TODAY IS OUR TACKY/ UGLY/ CAT-THEMED OPEN HOUSE
Five things that will happen if you stop by:
1.) You will receive (free!) coffee and/or hot chocolate
2.) You will take/receive an awkward polaroid in our (super ugly) sweater for two
3.) You will receive (free!) pretzels
4.) You will be entered into a tacky sweater raffle (!!!)
5.) You will (probably) feel less stressed
COME HANG OUT FROM 1:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M.,
IN THE FIRST FLOOR LOUNGE
#MindfulnessMonday
If you’d like to bring flowers to someone’s home for a Christmas get-together (due to social etiquette or maybe because you’re just nice), a less expensive (but equally beautiful) alternative is to bring a potted poinsettia. In home improvement stores, prices start around three dollars!

Or just skip giving them and keep them for your own table tops (photo from flickr.com, Jodi Grundig).
This will be the final Peek at the Week of the Fall 2016 semester,
so I’ll take a moment to explain my gratitude: it was frightening to come to a new school in a new state with a new (freezing) climate—but I’m so happy. Really, really happy to be writing Peek at the Week, eating the thousandth pretzel from Holy Grounds, and sitting warmly inside Falvey Memorial Library.
#FalveyPeek at the Week provided by Hunter Vay Houtzer, a graduate assistant on the Communications and Marketing Team at the Falvey Memorial Library. She is working toward an MA in Communication at Villanova University, and on refining her Christmas Pandora music station. Send your thoughts/suggestions to Hunter at #falveypeek.
