Maybe after watching/reading about/seeing the commercial for/hearing someone talk about a scary movie, you have trouble sleeping. Maybe your brain starts to wonder what is under the bed/in the closet/behind the curtain/hidden in the reflections within your home. Maybe. If this is you, Halloween can be a time of sleeplessness,
(someone has to stay awake to watch for monsters, after all).
And, if this is you—and I’m not saying it is—here are some tips to help:
1.) Youtube the movie’s “behind-the-scenes” videos to humanize the monsters and to remind yourself all the actors made it through the entire filming process alive.
2.) Stream a comedy, read a romantic novel, call your mom and ask about her latest craft project. Become wholly immersed in something else until the adrenaline dissipates.
3.) Turn on the lights and actually look in the dark corners of the apartment, even if it’s scary. When there isn’t anything there, laugh at yourself and return to your normal, less skittish self.
