What are Falvey’s Holy Grounds hours during finals? Sunday, May 1, noon – 2 am; Monday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 4, 8 am – 2 am; Thursday, May 5, 8 am – midnight; Friday, May 6, 8 am – 2 pm (Connelly Holy Grounds is open until 5 pm). Saturday and Sunday, May 7 & 8, closed.

Where can I study when the Library is closed? The 24 hour lounge in Falvey can be accessed from its outside entrance using your Wildcard. You can also use the second floor lobby and the reading room in Old Falvey (Falvey Hall). There is also the hall on the ground floor of Old Falvey and a space on the third floor where students sometimes study. Enter Old Falvey through the entrance at the side of new Falvey using your Wildcard.

What about wireless access? Wireless access points are available on all floors. On the first floor, it’s available in all public computing areas and in the 24 hour lounge. On the second floor in the central hall, in rooms 204 and 205 and the lounge area at the back of the building; On the 3rd and 4th floors, around the perimeter of floors.

Where can I print? Falvey has four public printers: three on the 1st floor and one on the 3rd floor. Just choose any of the library’s printers (FAL-1stFLR-PrinterA on gop… for example), and your print job becomes available at all four print-release stations.

What about copying? Falvey has two photocopiers: one on the first floor near the Griffin Room and one on the third floor near the group study rooms. Copies are 10 cents per page. You can use coins, $1 or $5 bills and your Wildcard debit.

Scanning? There are scanning stations on the first floor against the side wall. The scanning software allows you to edit your scanned documents and allows you to save to a flash drive, email the file as an attachment or print your file to the 1st floor printers.

My computer died. Can I borrow a computer? Yes, you may borrow a laptop for use in Falvey for 3 hours. Check at Circulation for availability. Falvey also loans headphones, Dell laptop power cords and ethernet cables for 3 hours of in-library use.

What about group study rooms? Six group study rooms are available for groups of two or more students. Each room has a network connection for a laptop and a whiteboard. These rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. A room key may be obtained at the Circulation Desk by presenting Wildcards from at least two students in the group. The room may be used for a maximum of two hours per group. During exams, only undergraduates and non-law school graduate students may sign up for these rooms.

Can I sign up to use a group study room for a telephone job interview? No, but check with Career Services in Garey Hall. They have several rooms available for interviews.

I have huge overdue book fines. What can I do? If overdue books are not returned within a reasonable time, the Library assumes they are lost and assesses a $100 lost item replacement fee plus the $3 maximum overdue book charge for each book. If you return your books, the $100 fee per book is waived, but you must still pay the overdue fines. If the books are actually lost, you will be charged from $25 – $100 per book. And if you find the lost item and return it within a year the charges are refunded. Remember, you cannot receive your diploma with outstanding fines!

How can I contact a librarian?  You have several options: on the Falvey home page on the left side click on “Ask a Librarian” or at the right corner in a dark box “Live Chat.” These are answered during normal business hours. You may also email or call 610-519-4270during normal business hours. (Librarians are not on site during extended library hours.) See the Library Directory on the home page for email and phone numbers.

More questions? Check with Access Services staff at the Circulation Desk or call 610-519-4270 during the hours the Library is open.
