The Villanova community will honor Irish history and culture with an assortment of events, including performances, lectures and other lively gatherings on campus during the months of March and April. Not only is St. Patrick’s Day on the horizon, but this year also marks the 100th anniversary of Ireland’s Easter Rising, a key event in Ireland’s fight for independence. Read more about the 1916 Easter Rising here.

Mark your calendar for these Irish events on campus:

In addition to the lineup of wonderful events that are taking place on campus, there is also a special exhibit about the 1916 Easter Rising in Falvey Memorial Library. The exhibit, which is located on the Library’s first floor, is titled “To Strike for Freedom: The 1916 Easter Rising.” The exhibit contains items from the Joseph McGarrity Collection from Falvey’s Digital Library.

Be sure to stop by Falvey to check out the Easter Rising exhibit and don’t forget to mark your calendar for these special events. Sláinte!
