The Curious ‘Cat: “What brings you to the Library today?”
This week, the Curious ‘Cat asks Villanova students, “What brings you to the Library today?”
Andrew Coonan—“I’m here to study for midterms.”
Christopher Lee—“I have midterms coming up, so I think the Library gives a diligent environment. If I’m stuck in my room, I usually get distracted or I get bored. The Library gets me, instead, to focus … to make sure I get my work done instead of being distracted by deciding to take a nap or by watching TV.”
Sean Mulroy—“Doing some studying for my midterms.”
Leigh Williams—“Finishing a paper before it’s due tomorrow—getting there, finishing up. Midterms, kind of a hectic week.
Katherine Spenzos— “Today I was here; I got a snack here. But also I work here, so I’m here today for work. I’m probably going to stay a little bit after ‘cause it’s midterms week, so I’m going to do a lot of studying. It’s a very quiet area in some of the rooms, so it helps me study.
Follow-up question: Since you work at the Library, how do you feel about being here to study, too? Does it seem as though you’re “at work”?
It doesn’t really feel like work ‘cause usually I’m in this area when I go to work, and when I study I’ll go to somewhere else. And so it will feel like a completely different environment. But I also feel more comfortable here ‘cause I work here, so it’s a good place to come to.”
