Front cover (selection), The man : a story of to-day : with facts, fancies and faults peculiarly its own

A few weeks ago, one of our Content Roundups highlighted The Man, a book recently digitized from our Hubbard Collection. This first (pseudonymously-published) novel of Elbert Hubbard happens to have been published by J. S. Ogilvie in the same paper-covered series as White Dandy, one of our earlier eBook releases. The unusual nature of this novel, and the coincidence of its relationship with material from our dime novel collection, made it inevitable that we would submit this to Distributed Proofreaders so that it too can have a home on Project Gutenberg.

If you would like to help turn this forgotten book into a new electronic edition, you can read our earlier blog post for information on the proofreading process, then join in the work at the project page.
