Several databases the library subscribes to are provided through EBSCO. This video shows how to get full text, get citation details, export to RefWorks or Endnote, print or save articles in EBSCO-provided databases:

TWITTER ROLLS OUT POLLS

How much fun would it be to take an instant straw poll from oh, like 50,000 of your closest pals? You may have heard that Twitter is now making that a reality with its new Twitter Polls feature. Available from within the compose box, Twitter users are able to create and send a two-choice poll to the Twitterverse. With the right hashtag, there’s no limit to the number of replies you may receive to your question. The poll remains live for 24 hours. Plans are to roll out the service to Android & iOS over the next couple of days, so watch for the little poll icon – looks a bit like a pizza with a slice taken out of it. So, will you give it try? Do you think it’s a good idea? (There’s two poll questions to start you off!)

Untitled-1

Designed by Vincent Connare and released for the first time in Windows 95, Comic Sans is a mocked and reviled font today. But what was Connare’s aim to begin with? Well, the font was specifically created for the speech bubbles of a cartoon dog assistant within the Windows 95 operating system. After all, “comic characters can’t talk in Times New Roman.” At WIRED 2015, Connare even claimed that he made the best font in the world. (…we are inferring that this is tongue-in-cheek!)

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today is the 69th birthdays of motivational speaker and self-help author Deepak Chopra. Chopra is an active and popular voice in the world of alternative healthy practices and spirituality. Who better to quote in a quote of the day section?
