Meet Kelly Wiles, Fall 2013 Digital Library Intern

Intern Kelly Wiles, Fall 2013Kelly Wiles is one of our new Digital Library Interns for the Fall 2013 semester. Kelly is originally from South Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor’s from the College of Charleston with a dual major in Art History and Historic Preservation & Community Planning. Kelly moved to the Philadelphia area to complete her Master’s in Historic Preservation at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design.

With regard to the Digital Library internship, Kelly says that she is most excited about getting to know the materials and “being able to touch and experience the collections.”

Currently, Kelly is also helping with the restoration of a home in Elfreth’s Alley. Kelly’s hobbies include architecture and genealogy. She loves furniture and going shopping at antique stores. She also loves cooking and dinner parties. She is currently reading Julia Child’s My Life in France.

If she could travel anywhere, Kelly would like to see the wreckage of the RMS Titanic. She says that she’s always been fascinated by the Titanic and “seeing it in person would be pretty exciting.”

Ms. Wiles, I understand you authored a thesis on my cousin Charles H. White. Could you please check your Villanova email to find a message from me? I live in South Carolina.
