Library Hours & Changing Times

Old Falvey Lobby NewAfter a careful review of library use on Friday and Saturday nights and on Sunday mornings, and after adding new study spaces in Falvey Hall, we have decided to curtail the library hours.

Closing at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and opening at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Sundays won’t prevent students from finding study spaces.

With entrance count reports that show about 5 – 18 patrons entering the library per hour on Friday nights, Saturday nights, and Sunday mornings, we felt comfortable knowing we could easily accommodate students’ needs in the 24/7 study areas.

The renovation of the Falvey Hall lobby gives us an additional 44 seats. And you might already be familiar with the 24-hour lounge on Falvey Memorial Library’s first floor, which contains 74 seats. Both of those areas will be open 24/7. There are electrical outlets and wireless access points in both locations.

Students also have access to two full service computer labs on campus, in Mendel Hall and Tolentine Hall, which both offer printing services.

It would be wonderful for there to be extended 24/7 hours. Especially for general printing, computer work, and study spaces. Please go through with this, it would be greatly appreciated, especially by your graduate students!
