TT at Southern CT State U (Jan 2, 12)

Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, CT. Assistant Professor, tenure track position, beginning fall semester 2012. Ph.D. expected. 4 courses per semester. AOS: Open. AOC: History of Philosophy. Department has needs in the teaching of introductory courses, especially critical thinking, as well as philosophy of gender or race, philosophy of education and other areas in applied philosophy. We are a pluralistic department with a strong commitment to the history of philosophy.

We are seeking a candidate who is able to teach an introductory critical thinking course and to help cover courses in our history of philosophy sequence (ancient, medieval and renaissance, early modern, 19th century, as well as various 20th century courses).
