Dig Deeper: Christopher Kilby, PhD, on Foreign Aid and Democratic Reform

BANNER_KILBY

This Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 3:00 p.m. Christopher Kilby, PhD, will deliver the year’s first Scholarship@Villanova lecture entitled “Aid and Democracy Redux: Reassessing the Impact of Foreign Aid on Democracy.” The lecture will focus on donors, like the United States, whose goals include the promotion of democratic reform in developing countries. Dr. Kilby will use unique and improved methods to analyze an in-depth data set in order to describe the real impact of foreign aid on the process of democratization abroad.

For this week’s Dig Deeper post, research librarian Merrill Stein has collected several points of access into the world of political science and global economics. You can find those links below.

Scholarship@Villanova events are dedicated to the recognition of bold scholarly publications, exciting ongoing research, and other intellectual contributions of faculty members from all four of Villanova University’s colleges. Dr. Kilby’s talk will be the first of several lectures in this series. The lecture will be held in the Speakers’ Corner on the first floor of the Library, and in the tradition of past Scholarship@Villanova lectures, this event is free and open to the public.
