Meet Becca Solnit, Fall 2013 Great War Exhibit Intern
Rebecca Solnit, who goes by Becca, is one of our two new Great War Exhibit Interns for the Fall 2013 semester. This internship is a joint appointment with the Historical Society of Pennsylvania (HSP) with interns in this position spending one day a week at HSP and one day at Villanova.
Becca grew up in Connecticut and earned her Bachelor’s in History from Dickinson College. She moved to Philadelphia in August. Becca loves history projects and is looking forward to getting back into hands-on historical research and preservation during her internship. She would like to continue her education with a Master’s degree in either History or Library Science, so she plans to use the internship to gain experience and help determine which course to take her further education.
In her free time, Becca enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and reading. She is currently reading Barbara Tuchman’s The Guns of August, as background for the Great War exhibit, and The Red House by Mark Haddon.
If she could travel anywhere, Becca would love to do a backpacking trip through South America. She studied abroad in India while in college and would love to go back there as well.
