Now in proofreading: How to Make Electrical Machines

How to Make Electrical MachinesOur latest proofreading project is another Frank Tousey Ten Cent Hand Book, from the same series that brought you How to Fence and How to Stuff Birds and Animals.

As the title suggests, the subject here is experimentation with electricity, and the book provides guidelines on how to build small electrical devices using materials that were available when the book was published in 1900.  While contemporary electrical experimenters have a much broader array of supplies at their disposal, it is interesting to see what hobbyists were able to accomplish more than a century ago.

If you want to help preserve this vintage book in electronic format, you can join in at the project page. To learn more about the proofreading process, see this earlier post.
