Now in proofreading: Wizard Will

ThisWizard Will week we have another new title in proofreading: Prentiss Ingraham’s Wizard Will, the Wonder Worker; or, The Boy Ferret of New York, a title first published in 1886 as part of Beadle’s Half-Dime Library.  Our copy is a British reprint from a few years later, with the “Boy Ferret” alternate title removed.

This was to be the first of several “Wizard Will” adventures.  The young detective never achieved the same fame as some of his contemporaries, but he at least achieved enough notoriety to earn a mention on the first page of Shadow-Catcher, a relatively recent work of juvenile historical fiction.

If you want to help make Wizard Will’s debut story widely available as a free eBook, you can join in at the project page.  To learn more about the proofreading process, see this earlier post.
